Harmonie
Advancing Health and Rights for Indigenous Women and Girls in Peru, Guatemala, and Bolivia
Harmonie tackles the root causes of gender inequality and the social and institutional exclusion and discrimination that undermine the health and the right to health of Indigenous women and adolescent girls in northern La Paz (Bolivia), Satipo in Junín (Peru), and Alta Verapaz (Guatemala).
This initiative focuses on neglected areas of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), including comprehensive sexuality education, family planning, contraception, and SRHR advocacy. Harmonie takes a multisectoral approach, working with health, education, and community sectors to improve the well-being of diverse groups of women and girls. The project promotes inclusivity and interculturality by integrating traditional knowledge and local languages into training programs and awareness activities.
The goal: culturally relevant primary health care services tailored to local contexts in each target region.
