Virginie Levasseur Will Become the New CEO of Santé Monde!

The Board of Directors of Santé Monde is proud to announce the appointment of Virginie Levasseur as CEO, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the organization.

A Track Record of Excellence

With over 25 years of experience in research and international development, Virginie Levasseur brings a wealth of expertise to Santé Monde, shaped by extensive work around the globe. Her transformative contributions in West Africa, Latin America, and Haiti demonstrates her deep understanding of global challenges and solutions tailored to local contexts.

Her career highlights include:

  • Recognized expertise in sustainable agriculture and agroforestry, participatory approaches, knowledge appropriation and adoption of innovative practices, project management, organizational development, and change management;
  • Groundbreaking initiatives to enhance sustainable and inclusive agricultural and food systems in over 20 countries across three continents;
  • A demonstrated ability to mobilize multicultural teams around ambitious goals.

A Harmonious and Thoughtful Transition

Virginie is set to succeed Daniel Campeau, who has been serving as interim CEO since June 2024. She will officially assume her role on April 28, 2025, supported by a well-structured transition period designed to ensure operational continuity.

Geneviève Larouche, Chair of the Board of Directors, highlights Daniel’s contribution:

“From the moment Daniel joined us, he played a key role in finalizing our 2024-2028 strategic plan alongside the management team. His leadership successfully rallied the entire organization to advance Santé Monde’s mission. The Board extends its heartfelt gratitude to Daniel for his outstanding dedication during this transition period.”

Virginie’s appointment marks a harmonious blend of continuity and growth at Santé Monde, paving the way for renewal and innovation. Under her leadership, the organization aims to enhance its efforts in global health through three strategic priorities:

  • Expanding the reach and impact of its mission to better serve the most vulnerable communities;
  • Forging innovative partnerships and diversifying funding sources to ensure sustainability and growth;
  • Advancing the organization’s capabilities and strengthening expertise to address emerging health challenges effectively.
